My Dream June Brides

It’s already June, and many students in the Philippines are preparing for the start of the new academic year. This month also marks the beginning of the rainy season, and many Filipinos, especially those in Visayas and Luzon, start renovating or strengthening their homes.

Let us also remember that June is considered the peak season for wedding ceremonies. Many women choose to hold their weddings during this month and are often called “June brides.”

If I were asked to marry someone this month and could choose a celebrity as my “June bride,” I would have a difficult time choosing from my top 5 favorites.

#5. Thalía — She is a popular Mexican singer and actress. I first saw her in the TV series Marimar, which was a very popular telenovela in the Philippines around 1996. I admired her beauty and charm, and she was one of my favorite celebrities during my college years.

#4. Kyoko Fukada — A famous commercial model and actress in Japan. Her angelic face and smile, featured on a large advertisement poster at the arrival area of Narita Airport, caught my attention while I was waiting for my luggage. I admired her so much that I decorated the walls of my room with her pictures during my stay in Japan.

#3. Nadine Samonte — A beautiful Filipina actress and model. She was my favorite during the StarStruck days. Her simple yet charming beauty makes her someone I would not get tired of admiring.

#2. Shakira — An international singer and dancer. I admire her performance style, singing, and dancing. I even saved some of her concert videos on my iPhone so I can watch them anytime. Her talent, charisma, and beauty make her one of my favorite performers.

#1. Song Hye-kyo — A beloved Korean actress known for the drama Autumn in My Heart (Endless Love). She is my number one dream celebrity. Her graceful appearance reflects my idea of an ideal partner. Her overall charm and beauty make her very appealing to me, and I believe she would be my ultimate favorite. =)
