Josh Groban – You Are Loved (Cover by Braven Ramsey)

On December 17, 2011, Typhoon Washi (locally known as Sendong) devastated my hometown, Cagayan de Oro City. Nearby cities such as Iligan and Dumaguete also suffered the same tragic fate. Many lives were lost, and countless families were left homeless.

Seeing the aftermath left many of us speechless. The pain and loss experienced by the survivors were heartbreaking. Yet in times like these, we are reminded that beyond mourning, we must also help, encourage, and uplift one another—to rise again and move forward with hope.

As a Filipino and a proud Kagayanon, I chose to create my own (amateur) version of “You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)” by Josh Groban as a tribute to the victims and survivors.

It’s 2012—a year for new hope and new beginnings. No matter how difficult the journey, don’t give up.
